 Seeking Blue Level 

Summary: Assists patients with achieving health and fitness goals.


White Level Trainer:


            Summary: This level of trainer is someone that is new to training or working at RAPS as an internship.


  • Floor Trainer
  • Has approved training cert or is in-progress of attaining
  • Able to show members how to properly use equipment

Pay Rate:

  • Paid at $10.00/hr with a weekly maximum of 12 hours without prior approval
  • Is not paid commission on any training session


Yellow Level Trainer


            Summary: A yellow level trainer is a trainer that is “in-training” for a higher level or has proven that they can fulfill the duties of being a RAPS Personal Trainer.



  • Has a nationally recognized certification
  • Hass passed all FMS, Boot Camp, Food Journal and Sales training. If they are new to RAPS, this training must completed and passed within 30 days of employment at Yellow Level.
  • Ability to run Boot Camp and Studio classes
  • Maintain a monthly average of 15hrs of training patients after TWO months

Pay Rate:

  • Earns 30% commission on training sessions
  • Earns 5% commission on all new sales (training packages or memberships only)
  • Paid $10/hr for desk hours that are approved





Red Level Trainer


            Summary: A red level trainer possesses the ability to give quality training sessions, instruct patients in proper nutrition and teaches the philosophies embraced by RAPS.



  • Has been employed by RAPS for a minimum of THREE months
    • o Others can be eligible for employment at this level with proven experience as a trainer or a degree in related field.
    • o If hired at this level they will coming in as a Yellow Level trainer and have a maximum of THIRTY days to pass all RAPS training and standards.
  • Has a nationally recognized certification
  • Has passed all Yellow Level training and levels of fitness training
  • Has brought in a minimum of FIVE training patients or TEN memberships on EFT or contract.
  • Maintains a minimum 60% 6-month retention rate
  • If at salary, they will fulfill the duties of Patient Specialist as assigned


Pay Rate:


Full-Time Salary

  • o $26,000 per year plus benefits
  • o Averages 42hrs per week
    • 24 hrs of training per week
    • 5 hours of healthy living (personal workouts)
    • 10 hours of Patient Specialist and sales
    • 3 desk hours
  • o Any training sessions beyond 24hrs of training are paid at 32% commission rate
  • o Earns 5% commission on all new sales (training packages or memberships)


Blue Level Trainer


            Summary: A blue level trainer has proven that they have the ability to produce results in their patients, retain their patients long term and has the ability to sell at a high level.



  • Has been an employee of RAPS minimum of 12 months
  • New employees will automatically be placed at this level after completing Yellow Level training if they have a Master’s Degree in related field.
  • Has a minimum of a four-year degree or equivalent experience and an upper level training certification (see qualifications attached)
  • Has passed all Red and Yellow level training requirements
  • Averages minimum of 3 training referrals monthly to 10 memberships on EFT or Contracted



Pay Rates:

Salaried – Full-time

  • o $35,000 per year base
  • o Earns 5% commission on all new sales (training packages and memberships)
  • o Maintains a 60% 6-month retention rate
  • o Averages 46 hours per week
    • Maintains 20 hours of training
    • 20 hours of sales and recruiting
      • Sales calls, net-working, events and ect
      • Also includes consultations


  • 6 hours admin


Black Level Trainer (Lead Trainer)


            Summary: A black level trainer is considered a master trainer. They possess the ability to produce results in any type of patient, able to work with high priority or high risk patients. The knowledge of a trainer at this level is very well rounded and they are a true professional and master of their craft.



  • Has been with RAPS for a minimum of 18 months
  • Has an Upper level training certification
  • Minimum of one year of personal training
  • Has passed all levels of training
  • Averages a monthly minimum of 4 training referrals or 5 memberships on EFT or contract


Pay Rates:


Salaried – Full-Time

  • o $37,000 per year base
  • o Averages 50 hrs per week
    • Averages 32 hours of training per week
    • 5 hours of healthy living (personal workouts)
    • 3 hours of sales and recruiting
      • Sales calls, networking, events and etc.
      • Consultations
    • 10 hours of trainer education and desk hours
      • Teaching other trainers
      • Mentoring clients and employees
      • Regular desk hours
      • Helping management with assigned tasks
    • Maintain 65% 6-month retention rate






Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.


  1. Schedules and manages patient appointments, reschedule and/or find a substitute if needed. Substitutions should be approved by fitness director(s). 


  1. Educates patients on behavior modification related to a healthy lifestyle, such as stress management, weight control, and athletic performance. *


  1. Performs initial and follow-up exercise consultations and physical fitness assessments for patients and/or members as assigned.*


  1. Consults and reaches out to new, current, and past clients and members for purposes of recruiting and maintaining patient base according to retention guidelines.*


  1. Acts as a resource for people using any aspect of RAPS.*


  1. Records patient histories, daily progress and maintains complete and accurate patient files, administers body fat composition tests, and documents patients’ weight and measurements according to their goals.*


  1. Conducts research and provides instruction on subject matter related to athletic training or projects related to people working on weight loss.*


  1. Develops and/or administers training programs for one-on-one clients and small groups.*


  1. Assists and administers metabolic testing and medical fitness standardization and protocol.*


  1. Assists and participates in outreach and community activities including marketing, projects, lunch-and-learns, etc. as determined by the Fitness Director(s).*


  1. Spends adequate time preparing for training sessions to include clean up.*


  1. Helps in basic cleaning assignments at RAPS*


  1. Attends all mandatory team meetings and training sessions unless pre approved by management. *


  1. Stellar communication skills, adhering to HIPAA compliance, providing coaching and empathy to our patients.*


  1. Communicate ideas for policies and procedures for groups and individuals using any of the listed facilities*


  1. Available and on call 7 days a week, 14 hours a day to cover staffing emergencies regarding Fitness specifically*


  1. Responsible for departmental goals for the organization and monitoring progress, appraising performance results*


  1. Generates majority and retains clientele and revenue*


  1. Facilitates staff meetings and training as needed, guiding the meeting with productivity and mutual respect created in the meeting environment*


  1. Weekly communication via email to team members/weekly email to community*


  1. Achieves financial objectives by preparing weekly Master Sales Report & Individual Professional Binder/Sales Log.*


  1. Assist Operations Coordinator with Payroll/Billing inquiries as assistance requested*


  1. Assist and develop marketing, promotion to generate clients/revenue*


  1. All aspects to be major contributor to lead RAPS to hitting successful KPI’s*


  1. Patient complaints – investigate, document and notify HR when necessary*


  1. Exhibit stellar customer service and professionalism to both internal/external patients*


  1. Conform to complaint resolution process*
